Dr. Bronner's Magic Lavender Liquid Soaps Product Review - A Great Toiletry Product For The Eczema Sufferer.
An Ingenious Product, Made By An Eccentric Man.
The Hemp Lavender Is My Personal Choice.
Finding an "eczema friendly" product for the eczema sufferer can be somewhat challenging.
While allergist specialist, dermatologist and physicians will advise such sufferers to steer clear from products that contain fragrances and dyes, the soaps or products that are suggested still tend to dry out or aggravate skin that's already sensitive and dry.
In a arduous quest to find a solution for my own toddler's bathing product needs, I recently stumbled across a product that has been around for over 60 years, and has aquired over 150 years of quality soap making.
* Dr. Bronner's Magic Liquid Soaps.
As I perused the skincare and toiletry aisles in our local Target, I made a discovery that would literally simplify my toddlers bath care procedure.
Fittingly called, Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps, I found a slew of bath products in the form of solid bath soaps and liquid bath soaps that are made from a combination of certified organic oils like extra virgin coconut, olive, hemp and jojoba, as well as pure essential oils such as lavender, peppermint, and rose.
It's not only what the soaps are concocted of but what they do not contain that makes them a great skincare solution for the eczema sufferer. These soaps are completely free of foaming and thickening agents, as well as synthetic and harsh additives and preservatives commonly found in other bath soaps.
Dr. Bronner's Magic Liquid Soap is unlike any other liquid soap I've ever come across. In addition to its intended use - bathing - Dr. Bronner's Magic Liquid Soap is a multipurpose product that provides the consumer with 18-in-1 uses.
A quick glance at the label shows just a few of its uses that include: bathing, washing hair, washing clothes, shaving and after-shaving, washing pets, cleaning and freshening dentures and more.
I however, intended to use it for two basic purposes: to bath and clean my toddlers eczema prone skin and scalp and hair.
Though there were several varieties available (varieties included Baby Mild, Almond, Peppermint, Tea-tree and more), I opted for the Lavender Liquid Soap since lavender has been found to have some success in the reduction of moderate psoriasis and eczema.
Tip: It's vital to note, that those who suffer from a tree-nut allergy should avoid the Almond variety. Though it will not be ingested, a mild, moderate, or severe skin reaction could still occur.
In addition, the Tea-tree variety may be to strong for some - infants and toddlers especially - so use with caution or opt for the milder variety such as Baby Mild.
Another thing to keep in mind: this soap does contain coconut oil and although "botanically" a coconut is considered a fruit, due to that fact that coconuts are a biological relative to tree-nuts, for those who possess a nut allergy it's wise to determine whether or not you have a reaction to coconuts before using this product.

* This Stuff Is Awesome!
Even after the initial use I could tell that I had found a gem.
In addition to leaving my toddler's skin extremely soft, Dr. Bronner's Magic Lavender Liquid Soap left her hair smooth, silky, and much more manageable than any other bath soap or shampoo I had ever used before.
As for the reactions I normally see with other soaps and shampoos which include itching, dryness and red patches, to my surprise I witnessed none.
I even tested it out on myself. The results? For the first time in my 32 years of using body washes and soaps, my skin felt smooth and soft instead of stripped, dry and itchy. I was pretty impressed with how it worked on my hair as well. It actually made my natural style much more manageable than usual.
An added bonus is that a little goes a long way. A 1/2 oz. diluted in two gallons of water is all it takes to wash your entire body and hair.
If you opt to add it directly to a wash cloth, your hands, or a loofah sponge, two small squirts is all it takes to get a creamy emollient lather going that relaxes your senses, softens your skin and hair; all the while leaving you clean and refreshed.
I've been using this liquid soap for a little over three weeks now, and I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Bronner's Lavender Magic Liquid Soaps.
* A Soap Made With The Earth In Mind.
Another great benefit to using Dr.Bronner's Lavender Magic Liquid Soaps, is that the company behind it is environmentally conscious. Not only is the product itself 100% vegan, the bottle that it's packaged in is 100% post-consumer recycled.
Therefore, not only are you getting a superior, organic, all natural product that is truly safe for your skin and hair, you'll also feel good about purchasing from a company that keeps the environment in mind while providing a useful product to its customers.
So if you're looking for an inexpensive, all natural, certified organic toiletry product that will meet the special bathing, skincare and scalp/haircare of those suffering from eczema, I highly recommend Dr. Bronner's Lavender Magic Liquid Soaps.
Available in the stores in 8, 16, or 32 oz., these liquid soaps will set you back between $6 to $15 depending on where you purchase them (a little more if you purchase them in your local health-food store). They are also available online at Amazon.com or at Dr.Bronner.com in much larger sizes.

Target is my place to shop wordscribe! I was so happy to have stumbled across this. It was after I found it in Target, that I found it in one of my local health-food stores. It is cheaper at Target though. I'm so pleased with this product, and the fact that it's evironmentally friendly is just an extra bonus that I love.
It's nice to be able to purchase something that's good and safe for you, all the while safe for the enviorment. Thanks for stopping by - Me, a HubMaster?! I don't know about that. With all the excellent hubs you've been writing, I bow to the real HubMaster ;)
This is a super product - I love it. I've been a big fan of the hemp/castile one. And one day I decided to wash my hair with it. I wear it in locs - and I am a clean person, I don't load my hair with gels and sprays and gunk. Well...I washed my hair with this and I cannot believe the filth that came out. Yikes! Yet, it left my hair, soft and fluffy, and smooth - it did not strip the natural oils, and no frizz. Wow!
The price seems to be going up quite a bit since so many of us are looking for a good product.
Thanks for the video! Great hub!
Thanks so much for your personal experience with this product BkCreative. I couldn't believe that I had never seen this product before. My hair now is in an afro style and I only put olive oil it, and I too noticed what came out of my hair when I washed it with this product. The label actually states that it dissolves the dirt right on out. So my guess is, that it provides a superior clean than other products.
All I know is, this is the best thing since slice bread to me. Thanks for stopping by. I'm so glad you enjoyed the hub as well as the video - what a find huh?
Great info! I love to smell lavender!

Thank you for your kindness to write such an informative hub. It must be so helpful to sufferers.
Thank you so much creativeon and Hello, hello for stopping by.
Creativeone - I hope this information will help others in a similar situation.
Hello hell - thank you for your continued support and kind words.
I've seen this at my local Target as well but never tried it. Thanks for the review. Sounds like it may work well on my toddlers skin.
Thanks Ms. Info for stopping by. They do have the baby mild if you want to start with that one. I do however highly reccommend the Hemp Lavender or the Plain Catile - I use the lavender due to my toddlers eczema. Just be careful and don't get in their eyes - it stings to high-heaven - I've gotten some in my eyes by accident so I'm speaking from personal experience.
Terrific product review. You do these things very well!
Thank you so much Paradise7 for your lovely compliment. When I review a product, it's something I'm very passionate about. Thank you for stopping by.
I just bought some of this recently. I used it years ago - and thanks to your hub it reminded me that this is a super product. I do appreciate a multipurpose product like this. It's safe and I can even use it on my hair - it doesn't strip the oils like those shampoos filled with chemicals.
What's old is new again - and I am so happy. I can find this product everywhere now even in the supermarkets.
Great product, great hub! Rated up!
Thank you so much TheListLady for stopping by and your comment. I agree, what's old is new again. I love this product and it has been a lifesaver. I am so glad I came across this it is truly a great product. Thank you for the rating.
It's great that people share this information. I'm 20 and I've had eczema my whole life. It really really sucks, I've gotten very depressed about it at times! So hopefully i can find this soap and try it out! Thanks for the info!!
You are so welcome MegMars. I really hope this works for you as well as it has worked for my little one who suffers from this skin disorder. You know it's funny, you often hear that "they'll grow out of it", but many times (especially considering cases such as yours), eczema sufferers have to deal with this all of their lives. That is why I love to share what has worked thus far for my little one. As a care-taker of someone who suffers from eczema, I can only imagine what you go through. I truly hope this will at least alleviate some of your symptoms if anything. Thank you for taking the time to stop by, read, and comment.
Thanks for the informative and interesting HUB! Rated up and shared! I agree, I love Dr. Bronner's soaps and use the Almond soap with just a bit of sunflower oil added as a shampoo and conditioner. I just saw Dr. Bronner's Magic Soapbox and reviewed it on my movie review HUB. http://hubpages.com/hub/Good-Movies-Out-on-DVD
I hope you will have a look. :)
WHat a great idea justmesuzanne to add sunflower oil to the almond soap for shampoo and conditioner. I'll have to try that with the Lavender liquid soap as well. Thanks for stopping by, taking the time to read and leave a comment. I'll stop by to check out your movie review as well.

Hey, I've never heard of this. Good grief I love Target! I may have to check it out as my daughter has dermatitis problems and certain harsh soaps bother her poor skin. I like how it's environmntally friendly, too. That's important to me. Great hub, you HubMaster, you!
