Recovering From A C-Section? - Then The C-Panty Is What You Need.

"Boy do I wish I had of known about this!" - These were the words I voiced to myself as I read a recent report concerning a mother who, due to an unexpected C-section, designed special undergarments that in addition to keeping mother's comfortable after a Cesarean, actually aided in the healing and reduction of the cesarean scar.

After the birth of my two girls both via c-section, the closest thing to comfortable undergarments were the ones administered at the hospital - undergarments that were reminiscent of a very soft mesh material.

Although much more comfortable than the traditional undergarment, once the bandages were removed from the incision, there were occasions where they would stick to the incision, being a an extreme cause of aggravation.

In addition to this aggravation, the scar would burn on occasion and would itch like the dickens (two years have past since my last Cesarean and my incision still itches!), and let's not even mention the pain and the soreness.

It was due to these very problems that the aforementioned mother of three decided to address an issue that hadn't been addressed before - Special undergarments that not only addressed the comfort of women who undergo C-section births, but would also aid in the healing process.

A More Detailed Explaination About C-Sections And What To Expect.

* The Birth of The C-Panty.

Catherine Brooks, a former post-surgery rehabilitaition therapist and mother to three children via ceasearn birth, is the creator and CEO of the ingenous C-Panty.

The idea of a special undergarment for women recovering from C-sections probably never entered Mrs. Brooks mind since from her first pregnancy, since like most women who experience a normal pregnancy, she was sure that she'd give birth vaginally.

Unfortunately, due to an unexpected event, it was determined that the best thing for both mother and baby, was to have her first child delivered via C-section. While the surgery went off with a hitch, the recovery did come with its difficulties.

In her search for undergarments specially designed to keep mothers comfortable after a C-section, she was amazed to find that there weren't any choices available. It was at this juncture that the idea of designing a special undergarment that not only kept mom comfortable, but also aided in her recovery popped into her head.

Brooks decided to user her experience and expertise in wound care to develop what is now aptly named - The C-Panty.

Recovery Tips For C-Sections.

* What Makes The C-Panty Stand Apart From Other Undergarments.

The C-Panty is not like your traditional undergarment.

In addition to mildly compressing the swollen areas, the C-Panty is equipped with a sewn-in panel of washable silicone that 1.) hydrates the wound and surrounding area to aid in the healing process, 2.) aids in minimizing the size and appearance of the scar and 3.) alleviates the aggravating itch.

In a period of 18 months; which included the designing and testing of the product (which she tested on herself, her friends, and anyone else she knew who had a C-section), Brooks finally had an effective product that she could be proud of.

With its initial national launch in 2008 at a small maternity trade show in Las Vegas, followed by a larger showing in 2009, the launch and sales of C-Panty has been extremely successful.

In retrospect, why shouldn't it reap such success? The statistics show that in the United States alone, approximately 1.3 million women each year undergo Cesarean births. That's one Cesarean in every three births!

These statistics show that there was a definite need that hadn't been met up until the present.

Bravo to Catherine Brooks! Her success story is a prime example of what an unlikely situation can inspire one to do.

Instead of allowing her circumstances to effect her in a negative way, she used it as a catalyst to not only improve her situation, but to improve the situations of other women as well.

Therefore, if your a mother anticipating or recovering from a C-section, why not avail yourself to this wonderful healing tool.

Whether you add the C-Panty to your baby-shower wish list, or purchase it for yourself, it will no doubt be one of the best post-surgery tools to help get you back on your feet and feeling like your old self again in no time.

At a price that ranges from $23.50 to $47.50, it's a small price to pay for the comfort and chance at a speedier and more effective healing process.

Here's to a speedy and successful recovery!

Thanks Creativeone and Paradise7 for stopping by.

Creativeone, the panties are fairly new, I wish I had of known about them myself. This would have really helped me in my recovery.

Paradise7 - I love this video because I was not allowed to tape the birth via C-section of my two girls, so this helps me to see how the procedure was done, and it explains just why it was so painful. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I had two C-Sections, but I don't remember the discomfort or pain. I guess "900" (LOL) years ago is enough time to forget such things. However I do find this hub to be interesting and informative. Keep up the good work Veronica.

Wow! This is news to me and some awesome information! Thanks for keeping us up to date Veronica Allen. So many women have C-sections and it is certainly time to be more aware of a new mother's needs. I'll pass this on!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and leave feedback.

fastfreta - Now I know it wasn't that long ago, but I do know what you mean about not remembering the pain or discomfort. Ask me a year ago and the pain was still burned into my memory. Two years have gone by, and in addition to a thick and unsightly keloid scar and the occassional itching and throbbing, I don't remember the intiial pain. If I move just the right way however, I do feel some discomfort.

BkCreative - so many women are having C-sections, and it's about time that their needs are adressed. Thanks for passing this information alone. I hope it can help others that may face a C-section.

Hello, hello - Thank you for the compliment. Since you too had a C-section, you've experienced first hand what recovering from one can be like.

Being that the creator of the C-Panty didn't really start marketing the product until 2008, it's fairly new. I know when I had my youngest in 2008 I hadn't heard about myself.

I wish I had of though. Thanks for stopping by habee.
